New Blog First Post

Hi all this is a new blog set up for Kirkstall Educational Cricket Club.
The thinking behind it is to keep members up to date with all the latest events, happenings and the thoughts of the management committee and how we plan to take the club forward. You may think that all this should and could be done on the club website and there is some truth in that, however our website is dated and difficult to manage and update so we thought that a blog for now would be a way to keep members better informed about their club. Hodgy- as some of you will know has set up a groundsman's blog- this is proving very popular and getting some positive feedback with visitor numbers increasing by the day so on the back of that this blog has been created we hope you find it interesting and visit on a regular basis.

What a mess!
The reason for this photo is to tell you about the latest completed project at the club.
After last winters frozen pipes and flood the boiler that heats the water and fires the central heating system  has been a problem- sited in the top garage hence the photo- So we applied for a grant to the ECB we were allocated £750-00 which was to go toward a new more efficient boiler and installation of same. Over the period of the last couple of week the installation has be made. Not only have we had a new boiler and all the control system installed but we have responded to complaints about the showers running out of water before all players had got in there. So we have had a new cylinder fit in effect doubling the size of hot water storage we hope the players will appreciate the investment.

Over the years we have learned that we need to complete one project before starting the next as we have limited time resources. The next project we have planned is the total revamp of both the ladies and the gents toilets along with a bar refit. We intend to do the bar fitting utilising club members with a little help from the trade in certain areas of expertise. The toilets are to be completed by tradesmen.
We believe that this project will be of benefit to all club members and will assist in getting the private hires the club so badly needs.
